Carmella,
ReplyDeleteThis ebook is amazing. I have been really enjoying working my way through the various kitchen experiments. Thank you so much for sharing these incredible creations.
Buy it everybody! It's so worth it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carmella for your hardwork. it truly is a special.
I can't wait to check this out...! :o)
ReplyDeleteHow many recipes require a dehydrator?
ReplyDeleteThanks all for your kudos. *blushing* I'm sooooo glad you're enjoying the ebook.
ReplyDeleteKdaca19xx,
Let's see... Out of 99 recipes, 24 require a dehydrator (mostly breads/crackers and some entrees). There's also 5 recipes where the D is optional.
I own just about every raw food un-cook book there is. This ebook is my absolute favorite! My husband and children really couldn't stand the "exotic" concoctions in the other books but have absolutely loved what they call the "normal" recipes in this ebook. This book is making our full transition to raw food so easy. None of us have cravings and no one is complaining - and that's saying alot for kids aged 11 and 13.
ReplyDeleteThe book is so beautiful and professionally done. I congratulate you and thank you!
Pam
is there such a recipe for raw creme brulee in any of the raw uncook books??
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam for your sweet comment. I'm so happy you're enjoying the ebook so much. Yay!
ReplyDeleten!na,
Funny you should ask now. Until a few days ago, I didn't think it was even possible until I browsed through the new Cafe Gratitute dessert book. There's a recipe for Creme Caramel (not exactly the same as Creme Brulee but pretty close) using Irish moss. It looks scrumptious!
I'm not remotely sold on the entire raw-food diet but have been trying to get all the mileage I can out of the dehydrator I recently reclaimed from my folks. THANK YOU for the great ideas and healthy recipes! Your healthy glowing smile is an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCarmella
ReplyDeletewe miss you!

I love your blog, so much that you are one of my favorites! Every week, I am listing my favorite blogs/books/people/etc. and you are among my favorite fellow bloggers this week. Just thought you would like to know ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Amanda
Hi Carmella! I recently bought your ebook - it feels much more like a gift, not a purchase thanks to your amazing creativity and generosity. i appreciate the fact that you put the effort into being able to give actual measurements so we can "get it right" without having to guess:) I know that the whole thing took lots of love and work and I think you are awesome:) Love, love, love your blog! Please keep up the amazing work and thanks again for sharing. Wishing you, Don, Da Puss and Ti-Nours a happy journey to your new home, may it be filled with light and love and laughter and happiness - and - lots of healthy deliciousness, of course:) (And thanks to Don for helping me to download the fabulous book while you were at a yoga retreat:)
ReplyDeleteCarmella - Are all the recipes from your blog also in the eBook?
ReplyDeleteI've followed your blog for quite some time now, and I decided to just try going all raw today. I'm not sure I'll last very long since I've put very little planning into this!!
Thanks Sarah for your sweet words; you make my heart sing. ;-)
ReplyDeleteKatie,
The ebook contains only some favorites from my blogs, along with unpublished recipes from Heathy and I.
I'd recommend gradually including more raw foods/dishes into your diet rather than jumping in all at once. It took Don and I years before going 100% raw, but the process was natural, organic and effortless.
Wishing you all the best on your raw journey!
Hi Carmella,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that though I'm currently one of those pesky omnivores, I'm utterly inspired by your blog. Such beautiful, striking and imaginative food!
My partner and I eat mostly vegetarian food, but have recently made a pact to start with at least one fully raw, vegan meal each week and to see how that progresses. I know it's a small step, but I hope it will lead to bigger things!
Thanks for the inspiration, and for the gentle spirit that shines through your writing.
Gill (in Scotland)
I will keep that advice in mind :-) I've done pretty well for a few days, but I won't think of it as a failure if I run out of ideas and go back to cooked food :-)
ReplyDeletei can't wait to be off the master cleanse so that i can try your recipes! you have the most magnificent raw blog i've seen. thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeletelove and light,
missy
Hi Carmela,
ReplyDeleteAs everyone has said, I love this blog. You always have the best attitude and you motivate all of us to get out there and try new things. I wish I had the adventurious spirit you have, but until then, I will continue to live vicariously through you and Don. :)
Question...when you do your D days, do you just spend a day prepping and then adding things to the dehydrator as they come out? I'm trying to plan one, but I've picked so much to make, it will take probably 5 days in the dehydrator! LOL Maybe I'm being too ambitious. Thoughts?
Wow you guys!
ReplyDeleteYour kind and loving comments always leave me speechless! What can I say... Thank you, thank you, thank you for dropping by and hanging out with me a while. ;-)
Gill,
I'm a big believer in the 'one step at a time' approach, so I think your idea is brilliant.
Wishing you and your partner a smooth and interesting journey!
Anonymous,
I usually prep all my different recipes on the same day and put them in the D as they're ready. Depending on what I'm making, sometime I'll start the D right away, sometime I'll wait til some things or everything is in before I do.
I hear you about having tons of recipes to make! lol It will depend mostly on how many trays you have to play with. Perhaps a good idea, especially if you're trying many of these for the first time, would be to halve the recipes. That way you'd get to try more in one go and wouldn't be stuck with too much of something you're not particularly fond of.
Oh, and a good rule of thumb when dehydrating, don't combine strongly flavored savory stuff with sweet items. You might find yourself with lovely garlic macaroons like I once did! lol
Have fun!
Since I found Carmella's blog and the Sunny Raw Freedom community I have pretty much ignored all my raw food cookbooks. And basically any other sites as well. This is an amazing book. I highly suggest everyone getting a copy. Now I can't wait to get Carmella's first book too.
ReplyDeletei love it

I think I might have to buy this for my iPad! How fabulous! Thanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteWow I love it when I find such great mines of information. I would like to have the time to create some of these wonderful dishes, they look wonderful. I am with you in regards to the earlier post and having green smoothies in your diet. The ultimate fast foods :-)
ReplyDeleteMy blender blew up last week looking for a second hand vitamix but they are rare so I am having to struggle with a pretend blender that struggle with bananas and celery.
Hi! I saw one of your posts in the forum and just discovered your blog. Great stuff. I have been researching raw recipes for a little while now and am amazed by the health benefits? Do you have any tips for grocery shopping, since I'm sure that many are concerned about the price of ingredients, especially organic food.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much,
J
Thanks everyone for your support and positive feedbacks! Lots of luv has gone into it ! ;-)

ReplyDeleteHi, Carmella and Don.
ReplyDeleteI've been lurking around your blog now and again, and I've just got to compliment you on it! Your photos always make the food look so appealing, and I have been intrigued enough to try a few of your recipes myself. I am not a raw foodie, but I am drawn to it as it is such a healthy way to live - something I aspire to.
Thanks for providing us all with this wonderful resource and inspiration.

Another great raw food ebook! That's great! I just got a brand new dehydrator. I'm now geared to make all of your delicious raw recipes, (even if you have one of the best dehydrator-free recipe collection)!
