Recipe of the Week: Tuna Salad

Time to go back to school already! Gee, where did the summer go, eh!?!

Well, whether you're about to return to lunch duty this week or just looking for a quick snack, here's a tuna salad recipe that will blow your taste buds away! Hands down the most 'tuna-ish' raw rendition I've tried!

Oh My This Is A Tuna!
Posted by Ocean on Raw Freedom Community

1 cup Sunflower Seeds (soaked)
1 cup Raw Walnuts (soaked)
1/8 cup fresh squeezed Lemon juice
1/2 Tsp. Garlic (minced)
1/2 Tsp. Kelp flakes
2 tablespoons Nama Shoyu
*******************************
1 pickle chopped (Bubbies pickle)
1 Tsp. Ume Plum vinegar (or apple cidar, I used Ume Plum)
1 Tsp. Herbamare seasoning
3 tablespoons Bubbies pickle juice
1 tablespoon fresh Dill Weed (chopped)
1/4 cup Onion (chopped)
1/4 cup chopped Celery
1/8 cup Parsley (chopped)

In FP blend seeds, nuts, lemon juice, garlic, kelp & Nama Shoyu. Transfer to bowl and add the rest of the ingredients.

Stir until mixed!

Carmella's Note: In case you're wondering, Bubbies pickles are unpasteurized and 100% raw.

  1. Well, I thought I'd had my Monday all planned out, but now I've got to change things. This recipe looks too good to pass up. I've even got a jar of Bubbies pickles in the refrigerator!

    Thanks for another great recipe!

  3. Did you know... that you can make your own fermented pickles in only 4 days in a cupboard? I use this nifty little jar device called "the Perfect Pickler". It's totally easy to use, makes the most incredible pickles at a fraction of the cost of commercial raw pickles, and you can make saurkraut and kimchee in it too!
I've got some pickles in the fridge right now, I made mock egg salad the other day with some of them but I'll have to try that tuna recipe next.
    Thanks!

  4. Thanks for the tip, craftylittlemonkey! I just used up the last of my Bubbies which can't be found here in Qc so making my own is the perfect solution! Yay!

I'm not familiar with "the Perfect Pickler" but I do have a sauerkraut/kimchi maker. Maybe it will do the trick. What recipe do you use?
